A Human Library is a library of people instead of books. In the TUC Human Library Series 1, as part of our Learning Community Project, we brought together some of the diverse people in the Mid Coast region to share their stories of resilience, tenacity and success.

On 11 May 2024, Taree Universities Campus hosted "Tastes & Tales," celebrating MidCoast's diverse culinary heritage. Residents shared family recipes and stories, fostering community connections and cultural appreciation. The event highlighted the power of food in bringing people together.

On April 13, 2024 our community came together for YAF24, an annual event dedicated to immersing young individuals aged 12 to 24 in the vibrant arts scene of our region. This year's event, filled with workshops, performances, and a spirit of togetherness, proved to be a resounding success, leaving a lasting impact on all who attended.

The Grand Opening Event at 2 Pulteney Street Taree was a momentous occasion for us at Taree University Campus (TUC), marking our transition to a larger premises and amplifying our impact on the education landscape of the Mid Coast region. We were thrilled to welcome a diverse array of community members, local representatives and key stakeholders who gathered to witness and celebrate this pivotal moment.

This week we were thrilled to open our doors at our official new home at 2 Pulteney Street, Taree! Education Minister Jason Clare joined us to mark the occasion and take a tour of the new facility, as one of the Federal Members instrumental in making Regional Study Hubs a much-needed reality.

On February 25th the Federal Education Minister Jason Clare released the highly-anticipated Universities Accord final report, billing it as a “blueprint” to change higher education for decades to come.

Through its operations on the MidCoast of NSW, Taree Universities Campus (TUC), one of 34 Regional University Study Hubs across Australia, contributed data to the Accord process to inform on the opportunities and obstacles for those studying in the regions.

Our Celebration of Student Success was a brilliant night intended to celebrate the achievements of registered TUC students who had recently completed their studies. With over 40 graduands among our cohort this year 😱 we were joined by many on Wednesday evening to share their stories.

The $103,420 grant will provide the capacity to renovate the space in their long-term home at 2 Pulteney Street, specifically in the upstairs space previously used as the Council Chambers, a space now prioritised for community use.

In an exhilarating chapter of success, TUC announces the achievements of 11 CSU nursing graduates who have seamlessly transitioned into pivotal roles at Manning Base Hospital in Taree and Gloucester Soldiers Memorial Hospital. This triumph stands as a testament to the strong partnership between TUC and Charles Sturt University.

2024 is shaping up as a year of setting strong foundations for Taree Universities Campus with the appointment of three new Board Members to support the campus as it is poised to relocate and expand into the previous Greater Taree City Council Administration building in coming weeks.

Friday 08 December saw our first Beats on the Bank Music Festival exploding onto our local entertainment scene to great success! The Festival was designed to showcase the wealth of emerging talent in our region, giving our young people a night to have a fun (and safe) experience with their mates.

Beats on the Bank, the much-anticipated music festival is gearing up to deliver an electrifying experience as an impressive line-up has now been finalised in collaboration with MSR Entertainment. This December 8 festival promises to be a celebration of local talent and a showcase of musical diversity, with a blend of soloists, bands, and headlining acts, many of whom call the NSW Mid Coast home.

Thanks to our partner University of Newcastle, we’re excited to be welcoming expressions of interest for the undertaking of a Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Secondary). This will enable graduates to work as a classroom teacher in just 12 months of study.

July 27 at the Manning River Rowing Club provides a day of opportunities for Mid Coast locals to explore career options. From 8 am to 3 pm, the event promises to be an unparalleled opportunity for the 1660 school students that have registered to attend to explore their potential career paths and gain valuable insights from over 60 leading exhibitors.

On July 19, the Australian Universities Accord Interim Report was released by Federal Minister for Education, the Hon Jason Clare MP, who announced that the Government will act on the five immediate actions the Accord Panel has identified. Through its operations on the MidCoast, Taree Universities Campus contributed data to this Accord relating to the opportunities and obstacles for those studying in our region.

The Federally funded Program ‘EduVenture’ will be launched next week, and sees Taree Universities Campus (TUC) partnering with the Australian National University (ANU), to bring together Student Ambassadors, local recent school leavers, and local employers to engage in activities and share stories with six high schools across the MidCoast LGA.

CareerQuip 2023 is bringing opportunities for Mid Coast locals to explore career options with the return of CareerQuip on July 27th and organizers are pleased to advise exhibitor registrations are now open.
