On Thursday, 26 February, the Taree Universities Campus building came alive with pride and possibility as students, families, and community leaders gathered for the 2026 Celebration of Student Success. The evening marked a significant milestone for regional learners who have completed their studies, transforming personal achievement into a collective moment of recognition for the Mid Coast community.
Uni Roadshow Parent Information Evening
Tuesday 10 February, 2026 • Taree Universities Campus welcomed families and senior‑year students to our inaugural Uni Roadshow Parent Information Evening. From 5pm, representatives from Charles Sturt University, University of New England, Southern Cross University and University of Newcastle shared the possibilities of regional higher education — all under one roof.
TUC Campus Reopens: A Fresh Start for Regional Students After Flood Recovery
Eight months after the devastating floods of May 2025 left the Taree Universities Campus building barely recognizable, on January 29 we officially reopened our doors, restored and revitalised for the new year. What was once a scene of mud and destruction has been transformed into a fresh, modern study space, ready to welcome a new cohort of students.

Guraa Hackathon: Youth Lead the Charge for Manning River Turtle Conservation
In a display of youth-led conservation, TUC sponsored the Guraa (Manning River turtle) Hackathon, a district-wide event that brought together senior students from five local schools to tackle one of the region's most pressing environmental challenges. Held December 5th at the MidCoast Council, the one-day event was envisioned by Uncle Will Paulson, a local Aboriginal elder and expert, with the goal of connecting young people with Country and inspiring innovative solutions for the protection of the unique Manning River helmeted turtle.
Walking Through History: Local Guided Tours with Uncle Russ & the TUC Team
On Saturday 11 October and again on Saturday 25 October 2025, TUC supported by MidCoast Council, delivered two complimentary guided walks in Taree that wove together water, history and Biripi culture.
VOYCE Conference & Expo 2025 – A Youth‑Led Conversation From Across the Mid Coast
Two days of honest dialogue, laughter and inspiration unfolded at the Manning Entertainment Centre (MEC ) on 18‑19 September, when more than 80 local high‑school students gathered for VOYCE: Voice of Youth Conference & Expo across the two days.
TUC Supports Innovative STEM Program: Ignite
We were were delighted to judge pitches from students as part of the Ignite program, a dynamic STEM initiative hosted by MidCoast Christian College. This innovative experience empowers students to design, manufacture and eventually race CO2-powered cars, fostering crucial skills in engineering, business and teamwork.
TUC Secures Funding to Boost Local Workforce and Education Opportunities
TUC is thrilled to announce that it has secured a significant investment of $831,024 through the NSW Government's Regional Economic Development and Community Investment Program (REDCIP). This funding is part of a broader $11.5 million investment by the Minns Government into six Northern Rivers projects, aimed at driving economic development and supporting job creation in regional NSW.
CareerQuip 2025 Inspires and Connects the Mid Coast Community
CareerQuip 2025, the Mid Coast's premier careers expo, successfully returned on Thursday, 31 July, at the TAFE Taree Campus. This year's event marked a significant milestone as it showcased the resilience and adaptability of the Mid Coast community in the wake of the May flooding disaster.
NAIDOC Activities
TUC is proud to have hosted a vibrant community march and cultural ceremony to mark the beginning of NAIDOC Week 2025. The event, organised by the Biripi Aboriginal Corporation Medical Centre (ACMC), brought together the community to celebrate the 50th anniversary of NAIDOC under the theme "The Next Generation: Strength, Vision and Legacy."
Coastline Bank Empowers Local Students with 2025 Scholarship Program
TUC registered students were among 40 who were awarded scholarships from Coastline Bank through the Coastline Bank Community Foundation. This year, a total of $20,000 has been invested in the future of local students in the Macleay and Manning Valley regions, with each receiving a $500 scholarship.

On April 10, 2025, the PCYC Taree came alive with colour, movement, and music for Youth Arts Festival 2025 (YAF25) — an action-packed celebration of self-expression and skill-building during Youth Week.
From the moment doors opened at 10am, the energy was electric. Local young people flocked to the event, eager to dive into a day of hands-on workshops, creative discovery, and community connection — and YAF25 certainly delivered.
Mullet Run Community BBQ Lunch
Each year, excitement builds as mullet season approaches. To mark the occasion, TUC recently hosted a community gathering, where mullet fillets hit the BBQ, served up with generous helpings of lemon wedges, chips, and salad.

Taree Universities Campus were delighted to participate in TasteFest on the Manning last Saturday. The weather was perfect and this brought in a large crowd.
