RUSH Forum Canberra Nov 2025
In November, Donna, Evan, Gemma, and Ben attended the Regional Universities Study Hub (RUSH) National Forum in Canberra. This event provided a fantastic opportunity to network and collaborate with other Study Hubs from across Australia, sharing ideas and approaches to supporting regional education.
As part of the forum, Donna was invited to join a panel discussion alongside Jasmina Joldic, Deputy Secretary of the Higher Education, Research and International Group at the Australian Department of Education; The Hon. Fiona Nash, Australia’s Regional Education Commissioner; and Helen Nolan, Executive Director of Regional Engagement and Education Partnerships at the University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ). The panel explored how universities, study hubs, and governments can best work together to improve access to higher education. Donna did a fabulous job advocating for place-based widening participation to broaden the horizons of young people in our regions.
Additionally, Gemma and Evan presented on the EduVenture program, showcasing the diverse learning experiences being delivered to local high schools—some of which are highlighted above.
