VOYCE Conference & Expo 2025 – A Youth‑Led Conversation From Across the Mid Coast

Two days of honest dialogue, laughter and inspiration unfolded at the Manning Entertainment Centre (MEC ) on 18‑19 September, when more than 80 local high‑school students gathered for VOYCE: Voice of Youth Conference & Expo across the two days. The free event gave 15‑ to 17‑year‑olds a safe platform to ask the hard questions, explore local support services and discover the power of their own voices.

Thursday, 18 Sept with Guest Speaker Courtney Ugle – The Noongar‑born AFL champion shared her journey from a challenging childhood to elite sport, weaving stories of resilience, violence prevention and the transformative role of community. Her honesty and heart-felt reflection of her school years sparked discussion around storytelling as a tool for healing and connection . Her new social‑enterprise Waangkiny provides ongoing support for community.

Friday, 19 Sept with Guest Speaker Andy Saunders – The nationally‑renowned comedian broke down barriers with humour, turning stigma around mental health into moments of collective laughter. His ability to blend wit with thoughtful insight kept the audience engaged while reinforcing the event’s core message: your voice matters.

Both sessions were expertly facilitated by Anna Godfrey, whose steady hand maintained the delicate balance between fun and reflection, ensuring every participant felt heard.

Our sincere thanks to:

Their presence reinforced the event’s ethos: a collaborative network ready to listen, respond and act on the concerns of the region’s youngest residents.
