 Frequently Asked Questions

  • TUC will have all new dedicated study spaces. Overall, the new campus will be bigger with more private and group study spaces, more bookable rooms, some secure underground parking, better views, all with the same access (physical hours and infrastructure) and facilities (i.e., kitchen and printing etc) and staff support.

  • We plan to be operational in the new TUC premises some time towards the end of 2023. We will email our registered students when the new space will be available and run an induction.

  • Securing the previous Greater Taree City Council premises as a ‘permanent’ home was made possible after LYNE MP Dr David Gillespie announced success in a $5.5 million application to the Federal Coalition Governments’ Black Summer Bushfires Fund. The funds provided a 25 year lease of 2 Pulteney Street from MidCoast Council to Taree Universities Campus.

  • TUC will be managing the complete building, however TUC will use 25% for our campus, 50% will be tenanted by others, and a significant proportion of the space will be community spaces, public lobbies/displays that are bookable!

  • We anticipate minimal downtime. There will be a period when current infrastructure is relocated of up to 1-3 days.

  • Yes, access times to the new TUC space will remain the same, 5am-Midnight, 7 days per week.
We have also incorporated sufficient external lighting into the design, creating a well lit space after hours to increase safety when entering/leaving the campus.
Security will also continue to visit the Campus during the night hours.

  • Yes, limited underground secure parking will be provided for registered students/users, to be used only when you are on campus. Please remember, there is ALL-DAY parking in Chapman Place car park, close to TUC.

  • No. New procedures will be in place when we move and we will hold induction sessions for students and users to become familiar with the new TUC space.

  • We do not anticipate impacts to students. If you are concerned with any key events you have at the end of 2023 please advise TUC staff on campus or email (admin@tareeuni.org.au) to discuss options.

  • Taree Universities Campus will be holding a Grand Opening shortly after the campus is complete. Everyone will be welcome to come and celebrate the occasion, including introductory tours of the new space.

  • For more information about TUCs relocation to its new premises, feel free to talk with our TUC staff on campus or email (admin@tareeuni.org.au).
