Hailey Trudgeon
Youth Resilience Consultant
What is your professional background & experience?
I have worked as an Early Childhood Educator, Disability Support Worker, Narrative Therapist, Community Development Officer, and most recently a Farmer and Writer.
Although I have had a range of occupations in different fields one aspect that has carried over all of these fields is my love of storytelling. I am a trained Narrative Therapist and I have helped people of all ages tell their stories in a meaningful way. For instance, during my work as an Early Childhood Educator, I helped children tell their stories about the impacts of the Black Summer Bushfires.
Now, I live on a farm with my husband and my family and spend my days looking after pigs and goats. I am also studying for a Bachelor of Arts in which I am majoring in Creative Writing and Social Justice. I am very interested in the link between storytelling and social change.
What are you excited about bringing to our Campus?
I am excited to help other students with their writing at university. I am also excited to assist young people who are considering their options after high school. As someone who didn't complete years 11 and 12, I am passionate about helping people find alternative pathways to university.
