Youth Worker (Casual)
Join our Street Tunes program as a Casual Youth Worker leading and delivering Friday youth programs, ensuring a safe, engaging, and positive experience for young people.
Location: Taree, NSWPay: SCHADS Level 3
Development: Ongoing training + Employment Assistance Program
Availability to work Friday's is essential. (no on-call or weekend work)
What You'll Do:
A typical Friday may include:
Program Planning & Administration
Preparing and organizing future Friday activities.
School Engagement
Visiting schools during lunchtime to promote upcoming programs and build connections with students.
Program Delivery
Setting up and facilitating afternoon youth sessions, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment.
Wrap-Up & Debrief
Packing down and reflecting on the day’s activities with the team.
Beyond Fridays, the role may also involve:
Contributing to service-wide planning and development.
Collecting and reporting program statistics.
Providing first aid support when required.
Non-Negotiables / Key Criteria
We're seeking someone who can meet the following requirements:
Relevant Qualification
Studying or qualified in Social Work, Psychology, Welfare or related field
Location Accessibility
Resides in an area that allows reliable travel to the workplace.
Availability
Committed to working 8–10 hours per week.
Note: This is a casual position. Additional hours may be offered based on budget availability and the candidate’s skill level.
Experience with Young People
Demonstrated experience and genuine interest in working with young people (through employment or volunteer work).
Clearances
Holds a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) and Police Check.
