Taree Universities Campus (TUC) was buzzing with energy these school holidays as kids of all ages took part in a range of exciting activities every Tuesday and Thursday. From creative workshops to movement-based fun, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

TUC has successfully secured $30,915 in funding for the revival of “Live ‘n Loud” to provide workshops and music events with a focus on a Youth Music Festival.

Relive Beats on the Bank 2024, a vibrant Taree music festival featuring local talent. Hosted by TUC with headspace Taree & MidCoast Council, it was a celebration of community spirit, live music, (and a dee-lishus festival feed!)

Year 9 students from Chatham and Wingham High Schools had an exciting opportunity to experience university life firsthand during a visit to the University of Newcastle’s Callaghan Campus.

The hackathon was a district wide collaborative effort to support local koala populations. Hosted at Taree Universities Campus, aimed to connect our youth with country and inspire them to think big when it comes to the future of koala conservation across the MidCoast region.

Taree Universities Campus celebrated the opening of its Art Foyer, with over 50 community members attending.

Local High School students enjoyed a day out at Taree TAFE this Term with TUC. Students were lucky enough to see TAFE in action, learn about the huge variety of courses on offer and to hear a bit more about opportunities such as the YES program and SBAT programs.

TUC is pleased to announce the appointment of Anthony Paulson as the new Chair of the TUC Board, following the leadership of outgoing Chair Dr Alison McIntosh. In addition, TUC is excited to welcome Michael Roohan, who recently joined the Board and has taken on the role of Treasurer.

The 2024 NCRRRE in Coffs Harbour highlighted "Growth Through Equity," focusing on collaboration between education and local communities. TUC staff presented projects and received the ‘Community Centric Award’ for CareerQuip. TUC Board Chair Alison McIntosh also shared insights on Regional University Study Hubs.

During NAIDOC, Taree Universities Campus (TUC) had the privilege of participating in and contributing to a series of meaningful events that celebrated and honoured the rich cultural heritage of our region.

TUC Campus team members will be presenting at the 2024 National Conference for Regional, Rural and Remote Education (NCRRRE) in Coffs Harbour from 13-15 August. The conference theme, “Growth Through Equity,” aligns with TUC’s mission to enhance learning and employment opportunities in the Mid Coast community by partnering with local knowledge and diversity.
