Customer Service Officer - Connected Families (fixed-term, 12-month contract)

Describe the opportunity & the ideal candidate:

The Customer Service Officer (CSO) is the first point of contact for clients, visitors, and stakeholders, delivering a welcoming, professional, and responsive front-of-house experience. The role is responsible for managing telephone and in-person enquiries, directing visitors appropriately, and maintaining a high standard of customer service.  

Are there any mandatory requirements for the role?

  • Certificate III Business Administration, or Certificate III Community Services or similar equivalent qualification 

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience (or equivalent skills) in a similar role  

  • A passion for working with families  

  • Knowledge of child protection practices and mandatory reporting guidelines  

  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates  

  • Current Class C or above NSW Driver's Licence  

  • Current Employee Working with Children Check  

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:  

  • Working knowledge of workforce management principles, WHS, SCHADS Award and roster optimisation  

  • Demonstrated ability to use databases and the Microsoft Office suite of programs, including Outlook, Word and Excel

  • Highly professional and able to act in a compassionate, non-judgmental manner, with a strong desire to provide high-quality client service  

  • A thorough understanding of privacy and confidentiality principles  

  • Able to work effectively both collaboratively and autonomously  

  • Experienced in managing competing priorities and delivering outcomes within agreed timeframes and quality standards  

  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to think laterally and use initiative
