What’s your connection to the MidCoast?
The MidCoast has been my home for over 30 years. It’s where I’ve raised my family and built a life that combines the best of both worlds—regional living with access to opportunities that matter. This region offers a unique balance: a strong sense of community alongside the potential for growth, innovation, and collaboration.
Professionally, I’ve worked across both the health and not-for-profit sectors, with a strong focus on education and supporting local young people to unlock opportunities. My commitment is to help create pathways that empower our community and ensure that people in the MidCoast can thrive without sacrificing the lifestyle they value.
Why TUC? What does this project mean to you?
TUC represents an incredible opportunity to bring together the strengths of regional living and building pathways to ensuring the next generation can succeed without leaving the place they call home.
I’m very excited to be part of this project because I know how overwhelming the financial cost of further study away from home can be for many people. For some, that barrier means they simply can’t engage in opportunities that could change their future.
Now, with TUC, people have so many options in how they work and study—right here in the MidCoast. This flexibility supports local talent, ensuring skills and knowledge stay in the region while giving individuals the chance to pursue education and career pathways without leaving home.
What does success look like for you and TUC?
For me, success means seeing local people—especially young people—access education and career opportunities without the financial and personal burden of leaving home. It’s about creating real choices so that studying, working, and building a future in the MidCoast is not only possible but appealing.
For TUC, success looks like becoming a trusted hub that supports local talent, connects learners with employers, and keeps skills and knowledge in the region and positions the MidCoast as a region of innovation and opportunity for the future.
