Evan Weller

Campus Coordinator

PHD (University of Tasmania), B. Sc (Hons) (University of Sydney)

What is your professional background & experience?

Growing up and always having a close connection to the ocean logically steered my choice and passion in studying Environmental Science as an undergraduate at the University of Sydney. I went on to complete postgraduate studies away from home at the University of Tasmania on extreme weather hazards. Jumping ahead many years, I have now held research and teaching roles at several universities in Australia and abroad, that have included student supervision and advisory duties.

What are you excited about bringing to our Campus?

I have become passionate about creating a learning environment that is inclusive, collaborative, engaging and empowering – thus encouraging students to be curious and passionate about what they are studying. It can be a hard personal decision to undertake tertiary studies and keep going to the end. The role of Campus Coordinator allows me to continue to pursue such student motivation and assistance here at TUC and the broader network of students and stakeholders on the MidCoast.
