Taree Universities Campus & Hunter Local Land Services announce first scholarship recipient

Jazmin Madden, a student registered with Taree Universities Campus, and studying a Bachelor of Agriculture with UNE, has received a financial scholarship from Hunter Local Land Services

Taree Universities Campus and Hunter Local Land Services have announced the first local recipient of a new university scholarship collaboration.

Jazmin Madden, a student registered with Taree Universities Campus, and studying a Bachelor of Agriculture with UNE, has received a financial scholarship from Hunter Local Land Services for $5000.

“I have a strong passion for agriculture,” Jazmin says, “I want to incorporate the knowledge acquired from the degree into my own Black Angus stud located on the Mid North Coast, and to eventually find a job within the agricultural industry”.

Taree Universities Campus CEO Donna Ballard congratulated Jazmin and thanked Hunter Local Land Services for their generous support of local students, acknowledging this reduces financial stress and assists students to study close to home.

“Jazmin is studying through Taree Universities Campus and has been awarded a Hunter Local Land Services scholarship aligning with her area of study that will be paid in progressive instalments across the next twelve months,” Mrs. Ballard said.

“We encourage other TUC students in financial need to reach out for assistance, as Hunter Local Land Services have a number of scholarships available.”

Albert Mullen in Ag Production for Manning Great Lakes District with Hunter Local Land Services said the program was a great opportunity for local students to be supported in their studies.

“This is a developing partnership between Taree Universities Campus and Hunter Local Land Services and I am pleased Jazmin will undertake some practical work experience with us as part of the Scholarship,” Mr. Mullen said.

“The Taree Universities Campus is all about matching students and graduates with local workplaces to meet skills shortages and assist the student with on the job experience relevant to their course of study”, added Mrs. Ballard.
