UNE's Master of Urban and Regional Planning is a multi-disciplinary course integrating economic, scientific, legal and sociological considerations to achieve optimal social, environmental and economic outcomes. The course is accredited with the Planning Institute of Australia, with graduates eligible for membership of the Institute's Urban and Regional Planning Chapter.
You'll work on real-world planning projects in collaboration with industry partners, exploring complex problems across urban and regional contexts. Core study areas include geography, sociology, law, public policy and economics. If admitted under certain pathways, you can choose coursework alone or combine it with a dissertation component to build research skills.
This course offers diverse admission pathways — if you have a bachelor's degree or higher, you can pivot to urban and regional planning, with advanced standing available for relevant qualifications. On the Mid Coast, planning expertise is valued in local government, community development, environmental consultation and infrastructure planning.
