Masters in Clinical Teaching and Learning, in addition to Honors in Critical Care Nursing

What is your professional background and experience?

Prior to nursing I worked in high school and tertiary settings providing academic and general student support to undergraduates and post-graduates from a range of disciplines. Within these roles I met so many inspiring nursing students that I decided I needed to try my hand at nursing. Once graduating, I started nursing in critical care on the Central Coast and since then have never been able to quite shake (as hard as I try) that emergency department pull, so remain an ED nurse by nature.

In 2016 I moved my family north to a 120-acre property and immersed myself in rural health. I find it gives me new opportunities to learn everyday and is such a contrast to my metropolitan experience. I love travel and love new experiences and find the opportunities in nursing endless and exciting.

What are you excited about bringing to our Campus?

I love working with students and have never been able to give this up, and so have always balanced my nursing with my teaching. I have worked for tertiary providers in providing a range of academic and clinical support to undergraduate nursing students across NSW.

The highlight of my career was facilitating student abroad placements in Nepal. This trip fuelled my love for new nursing experiences and I can’t wait to one day travel Australia and nurse rural and remote.

Yet for now I am here, living my current love, working with local students and providing support to a cohort that I hope will one day nurse beside me.
